Wow, this resonates so deeply! I just published my first post (thank you for the love, it brought me here) as a way to claim my identity as a writer. I also have a post-it that hangs on my bathroom mirror which says (in all caps) "YOU ARE WORTHY". Thank you for this inspiration!
Thanks for these kind words, and I love hearing about your Post-it message! I've been following your writing for a few years now, and I'm excited to see where this format takes you. Glad to be connected here!
I’m sitting on a Paris terrasse, reading this in the sun and feeling a little emotional… The way you write so beautifully about the power of asserting yourself and claiming who you are really strikes a chord. It seems so simple yet it’s so difficult, impossible even at times.
Simple but not easy, exactly. I started being more intentional about the stories I tell myself after reading Dr. Kristin Neff's book on self-compassion, and it's held me through some painful times - and helped me actually enjoy the good times.
And Justice, your image of reading this on a sunny Parisian terrasse is so beautiful - I'm soaking that in on this cloudy Quebec day...
I love this. I'll be thinking about what words are in my oost-its, chosen or not. For today: Writer. Nurse (sick kids again). And if it's okay, I'll borrow yours: Lovable.
Sometimes it's powerful to see how many roles we are playing all at once. Hope your kids are feeling better. And yes, I can confirm that Lovable is an entirely appropriate Post-it for you, friend.

I would love to hear more about that writing program. ✏️✨ Should I email you? I don't think Substack has DM yet.
Yes, shoot me an email, I'd be happy to chat! hello@marinagrosshoy.com ✨
